A bath room at Bet Shean, ancient Scythopolis

Baths

The heating system underneath the bath floor; it was raised on brick tiles to permit warm air to circulate underneath it. The baths had an array of rooms, swimming pools, and an exercise area. It likely functioned into the sixth century CE.
